Today was the first day of the inaugural St. Ambrose University Undergraduate Summer Research Institute for the Behavioral and Natural Sciences (USRI). Students majoring in Biology, Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience and Industrial Engineering will spend the next six weeks conducting research on one of two topics: Age differences in the effects of cognitive load on balance, or Utilizing neural signals for control of a prosthetic hand.
Today, we got to know each other, and spent some time in the lab learning about indicators of balance. And Teresa won a box of pancake mix. It was a very good day.
